The Street and Alley Maintenance is a division of the city’s Public Works Department. Their primary responsibilities include:

  • Tree Maintenance: Planting, Pruning, and Removal
  • Lot Clearing
  • Drainage Maintenance
  • Care of the City’s Highway and Right-of-Ways
  • Demolition of Condemned Structures
  • Street Sweeping
  • Sign Maintenance
  • Lettering of All City Vehicles
  • Christmas Lights
  • Flags
  • Mosquito Control

The Beautification division is a service that the city provides in an effort to present our city as a place that our community can be proud of. The responsibilities of this department is to provide:

  • Daily Litter Pickup
  • Mowing of City Right-of-Ways, Fire Department Building, City County Complex, Alleys, Dillon House, and the Dillon National Guard Armory.

Some Winter duties include:

  • Curb Edging
  • Shrubbery
  • Pruning
  • Continued Litter Control

SANITATION RATES 2022

That Sanitation Division provides residential and commercial services.  Residential services are scheduled once a week Monday thru Thursday.  Commercial services are scheduled one to five times a week Monday thru Friday.

City of Dillon now accepts the following residential recyclables:

Newspapers, Aluminum Cans, Steel/Metal Cans, Plastic Bottles/Jugs, and Glass. These items need to be stored in the city of Dillon recyclable bin and placed at the street on the same day of your weekly roll cart pick up.

Cardboard and boxes are not recyclable items that are accepted at this time. Breakdown the boxes so that are flat and put in roll cart for normal trash pickup.
